D9Firearms - New Year Kickoff

January 9th, 2009

Last year was our best year and was even before the year end election bonanza gun sale.  Wow, talk about volume.  Every dealer, wholesaler, and manufacturer we dealt with was in the same status; buried.  Some of it has subsided only because the children needing Christmas presents and obviously keeping the misses, mistresses, girl friends, and wives (not necessarily in that order or limited to only one) happy.

Regardless, we got to build some really smokin rifles.  Despite delays from several of our sources we managed to create new product lines, which have been very successful.  We are hoping to improve upon this success and create a permanent product line with the 308 20” SST SDM contour barrel style from White Oak.  We will standardize on Wilson match barrels and doing special runs with Krieger.  Additionally, we going to branch out and do some special runs in other calibers as well.

We are also in the process of rolling out with a new website to better organize what we currently have on hand, what we’re up to, and better picture viewing (very important).  We are advertising on KC Gun Trader and will have a link to that sight to list our for sale items.  They are already set up for this type of operation and it frees us of having to spend lots of money and time.

Another goal of ours, based on Mrs. D9’s blessing of course, is we plan to get out to the field and range more this year for testing and general shooting to provide more feed back for you.  Several of you have offered invitations to come out and do some hunting and shooting and it’s something high on our agenda this year.  It’s great to write about a gun at the range but it’s a whole lot different when you’re using it in action and finding what works and what doesn’t.

One issue we’ve dropped the ball on recently is response time and sometimes not responding at all to calls and emails.  I can only say that this was directly related to the shear volume of calls and emails, while trying to respond, order parts, build, sell, and transfer, it was beyond our capability to manage this amount of traffic (we’re not blaming you for calling).  Currently our email and phone traffic has decreased slightly but still high enough that we are struggling to stay current.

For all local customers for the near future are going to maintain office hours twice a week, usually Tuesdays and Fridays, and limited over the weekend.  We will try and respond to emails as quickly as possible and most phone calls will still go to voice mail.  We have to provide sufficient shop time, home time, Mrs. D9 time, kids time, and adult beverage time.   We also expect lead time on everything from parts delivery to build time to increase due to product availability and just the amount of work in general.

We are also building a small inventory of suppressors and have just submitted our first batch of forms to the local PD for sign off.  (It helps to go in and introduce your self and explain the process.  They were more receptive then over the phone once they realized I wasn’t some kook fringe element from earth first or some other nut job organization.)

Currently we are in the process of trying to clear out our backorders and should have a shipment of 308 barrels in from White Oak by the end of the month.  We also placed another order for more .260 & 308 barrels as well as .243.  We are also expecting a shipment of .223 barrels from them as well.  Yankee Hill confirmed that they are behind on barrels and should expect about 3 more weeks before they kick out their barrels.  (They’re running two shifts, as well as several other manufacturers I spoken with.)

Next week will be really cool when me and my vice president, Mrs. D9 head down to the 2009 Shot Show.  (Of course she’ll get the chores done before we leave.)  We’ve spoken with several manufacturers and wholesalers we deal with and look forward to meeting them.  We are also expecting to place several orders for this year and hopefully give us a leg up on getting guns more regularly.

Some of the key players we are going to meet up with are:

-DPMS

-White Oak Armament

-Rock River

-LWRC (we just got one of their piston guns, killer)

-POF (they have a 308 piston gun coming out as well)

-RSR (one of our wholesalers)

-Warne (we use their scope rings almost exclusively)

-JP Enterprises

-IOR Valdada (we haven’t confirmed if they’re going to be there yet, but hopefully)

-Daniel Defense (you’re going to start seeing more of their products on our rifles)

-AAC (we planning on keeping these readily available)

-YHM (we’ve been using a lot of their products and plan on keeping their suppressors on hand)

So we will be working this weekend to punch out any orders we can because next week you won’t be hearing much from us.  We’ll be back in the saddle the following week and look forward to building some awesome rifles.

We appreciate you contacting us for any of your firearms needs.

Sincerely

Mr. & Mrs. D9

Christmas

December 24th, 2008

Dear Friends-

We here at D9Firearms would like to wish all of you a Happy Christmas.  We’ve been incredibly blessed here at D9 and hope that every one of you has a safe and wonderful Christmas.

Tonight D9 and family are going to celebrate and remember what the purpose of this great day is.  Even though not all of you celebrate the Christian meaning of tomorrow, I believe most of you deep down do know in your heart, what is all about.

Without going soft and mushy on you I personally appreciate every one of our friends (even the heathens) and want to wish you all the best for next year.

D9Firearms - Form 4 Procedures For NFA Items

December 24th, 2008

IMG_1033.JPG

We acquired our SOT this year to offer Class III items and transfers.  Our primary focus will be suppressors but we will handle machines on a limited basis.  For the last few months we’ve been quietly ordering suppressors from a variety of manufacturer’s and have received a few in.  Until we get more time in testing and shooting and finding out what works best with what firearm we are going to limit what we keep on hand.  We can always order or transfer suppressors if what we have is not what you’re looking for.

Currently we have the following suppressors available:

Yankee Hill Machine:

-        Mite 22LR (fits; Mosquito, Walther P22, and others)

-        Wraith 22LR (Used on 22LR rifles, sub guns)

-        Cobra 9mm (HK USP-SD, Glock, Sig, etc.)

SWR:

-        Trident 9mm (HK USP-SD, Glock, Sig, etc.)

-        Warlock 22LR

AAC:

-        Evo 45 (HKUSP Tactical, Glock, Sig, etc)

-        7.62 SD

-        5.56

-        Pilot 22LR

IMG_1033.JPGShown above (Top to bottom/left to right):  Top, D9Firearms custom upper w/A3 receiver, YHM 10.5″ barrel, YHM free float 4 rail, chrome bolt assembly, Gemtech 5.56 suppressor; D9’s personal HK USP Tactical 45ACP w/AAC Evo 45; Sig Saur P250 w/APU camo & YHM 9mm Cobra; Sig Saur Mosquito 22LR & SWR Warlock; SWR Warlock, AAC 5.56, AAC 22LR Pilot.

We currently have these suppressors available and will be placing an order the week of Christmas for additional SWR Trident 9, AAC M4-1000, M4-2000, 7.62 and others.

It takes about 10 minutes to fill out the paper work.  When preparing the paper work you will need the following:

-        2 passport photos

-        2 finger print cards (we’ll provide the cards)

-        ID

To help expedite the process you can call us in advance for the finger print cards so that you can take them to the local constable and have them run your prints.  (Since the cards are pre-printed with the NFA address we recommend using these, which requires doing finger prints the old fashioned way.  For those non-felonious readers some large battle ax, over stuffed, man handling, finger grinding police babe grabs your wrist, bends you over, and with one hand on your shoulder and the other dislocating your finger, she grinds each finger into an ink blotter, then dislocates your wrist, compresses each finger like a vice onto the finger print card.  You would think the auther has had some experience with this.)

Since we can’t fill out any paper work until we have a serial number we recommend getting the prints and photos prior to coming over.  Once we get a serial number or the can, we can then fill out the paper work.  However, we can not send in paper work until the suppressor is physically in our possession, but we can at least have it ready for when we do.

Next, you will submit the paper work to the local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (local police chief or sheriff).  More then likely you will need to drop it off and come by a few days later once the chief has signed off.  When that’s complete you will write a personal check or money order and send the two form 4’s in.  It takes approximately 2-3 days for the feds to cash your check, 4 – 6 weeks to log the paper work in, and another 4 – 6 weeks to get the sign off from the examiner.  Once we get the paper work back, you come over and pick up the suppressor.

Since the form 4 has been filled out a 4473 form is not required.  However, for our tracking purposes, we will require you to fill out the top portion of a 4473, but it won’t require us to call it in.

If you’re interested in a suppressor give us a call.  Remember you wouldn’t drive your car without a muffler, don’t shoot without a suppressor.  “Be kind shoot quietly” and remember do it for the children.  (Pretty catchy I just thought that one up.)

D9Firearms - Christmas Update (Yes, we said the word Christmas)

December 18th, 2008

IMG_1026.JPG

We had a blow out at the gun show last weekend and want to thank everyone that stopped by, especially those of you who purchased items from us.  We got to see a lot of our friends as well.  For those of you who we had to put your quotes, orders, and builds on hold we appreciate your patience and we didn’t sell your rifle.  It will take us a few days yet to clean up the shop, get all the paper work logged in and filed, place parts and gun orders, and get back to building your rifles.

However, we are planning a pre-Christmas blow out of what we have left and will be making a one time offer this week to blow out some items to make funds available for current and new projects slotted for next year.

Right now we are offering the following items:

Stag Arms – customized with RRA 2 stage NM trigger, Magpul CTR stock, Ergo grip, Yankee Hill free float 4 rail, YHM front flip up sight/gas block, & ARMS 40L rear sight.  (This is a nice little gem of a rifle, built to last, none of this namby pamby plastic crap).  $1400

IMG_1009.JPG

Sig Saur P239 Tactical 9mm w/3 magazines, night sights, and threaded barrel.  (Add an SWR Trident and things get very quiet.)  $695

IMG_0979.JPG

Sig Saur P250 9mm w/APU digital camo lower, 3 mags, and threaded barrel.  (This is a unique pistol on what they did with the camo and just the overall design.  It will set you a part from other Sig owners who didn’t buy from D9).  $675

IMG_0998.JPG

Dan Wesson 357 – 4 barrel set.  This is classic.  If you’re an old timer who likes wheel guns this overnight case is for you.  (There are no cosmetics in this suitcase, so if you are some kind of ho-mo-sexual you need not inquire.)  $750

IMG_1002.JPG

Sun Devil – Hers version w/RRA 2 stage NM trigger, YHM chrome lined 1:7 barrel, Fabio compensator, CAA 6 pos stock, CAA grip, Viking Tactical carbine forearm. (Same goes for this gun, this is a real woman’s gun, not some nelly, limp wristed, big girls blouse wearing, puff boy.) $1150

IMG_0912.JPG

Sun Devil – Sporter version w/RRA 2 stage NM trigger, White Oak Armament 1:7 twist 20”SST SDM barrel, Bennie Cooley comp, JP adjustable gas block, Sun Devil nickel Teflon coat finish, CAA 6 pos stock, Badger Ordnance Tac latch.  (This is a Johnson county Socom operator wanta be gun with testicals.)  $1550

IMG_0920.JPG

DPMS – LR-308 24”SST bull w/slick side upper, Magpul PRS stock, Ergo tactical grip w/palm shelf, JP adjustable w/speed hammer and anti-walk pins.  Top this off with an IOR and nothing will get close or get away.  (This is a man’s gun, a real man’s gun and oozes manliness, don’t ask me about it if you’re not for sure of your manliness.  (For example male nurses, pharmacist, hair stylist, liberals, vegetarians, and especially not interior decorators.) $1650

IMG_1011.JPG

HK USP Expert 45ACP – This is been one of D9’s personal handguns and will deliver knockout punches with low recoil.  This gun is in my top picks for precision, reliability, target shooting or home defense and is only being given up to make room for the HK USP Tactical 45 with an AAC Evo 45 suppressor.  (Mrs. D9 said I can’t keep them all, but as you all know I have the final say.)  XS night sights included.  (If you’ve ever though of yourself as some kind of ball breaker and you’re not, don’t ask me about this gun.  This is a bad ass gun and should only be entertained by seriously bad ass shooters.) $1000

IMG_0987.JPG

Browning Buckmark – This is a lightly used target 22 and would be an excellent choice for the children.  (Oh my God, children.  Yes of course “For the Children”, we really do care).  $300

IMG_0993.JPG

12GA Remington 870 Tactical w/KNOX recoil reduction system – This little brute will open any door, redecorate any interior room, cause immediate urination for those on the muzzle end of the barrel, and other wise low recoil enjoyment.  (Again, this is not suited for interior decorators or the likes.)  $500

IMG_1014.JPG

Glock 27 – 40SW pocket full of fun w/adjustable sights.  If you need an undeniable ultra reliable CCW hand gun with a low profile this is it.  (This is a very good choice for a primary CCW gun, and would be suited for men and women of all types, including male nurses.)  $475

IMG_0975.JPG

DPMS LR-260H modified – This was done for a good client of ours who ended up having to cancel on the order.  It has a slick side upper, 20” heavy barrel, Miculek Compensator, custom trigger work done, Hogue grip, and tac latch.  The gun has never been fired. (This is another unique design and will set you apart from those who purchased their guns down at the big box camo store) $1400.

IMG_1018.JPG

Silent Night – This is the ultimate in silently putting to rest those little fur ball tree rats that constantly naw on your house, hurl insults, pillage your garden, try and cause car accidents, and a host of other malicious activities.   We started with a factory Savage MK II 22LR w/accu trigger, had our local gun smith thread the barrel, added a Nikon Prostaff 3×8 BDC scope, and a YHM Wraith 22LR suppressor all for your delight, enjoyment, and protection against the savage little terrorist raining down fear in your own front yard.  Tell them silently you’re not going to allow this behavior any longer.   (This is why you come to D9 for your firearms needs.)  $850 comes with case.

IMG_1024.JPG

10.5″ Upper Receiver Assembly - (Top two available, bottom has sold)  $575 each bolt assembly and charging handle included.  (Muzzle break on top receiver can be changed out.)

IMG_0972.JPG

Elcan 240 3.4x ranged scope - Military grade.  NIB.

IMG_1004.JPG

We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas (even our non-secular friends & Jewish friends) and hope that the next few weeks you and your family have an enjoyable and blessed holiday.  Most importantly remembering why we are celebrating – The birth of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas from D9 & Associates.

We will be posting some Christmas entertainment pictures next week of range test on the HK USP Tactical w/AAC-EVO-45 suppressor, Silent Night, and a few other designs we’re working on.

Merry Christmas from D9 & Associates.

Overland Park, KS Gun Show December 13&14 - D9Firearms

December 11th, 2008

We almost forgot to let people know that we will be setting up a couple of tables at the Overland Park Gun Show this weekend at the Overland Park International Convention Center off of 115th & Metcalf.

We will a variety of AR-15 guns and a variety of handguns.  We are also going to have a smattering of ammunition some available by the case and others by the box.  We will also be setting up with a couple of our friends who will have a variety of new and used firearms.

We will also have our Silent Night Rifle on display along with a variety of suppressors.  We won’t be able to fill out any of the NFA forms at show due to the congestion and will schedule an appointment for the following weekend where we can sit down at our home office and get everything filled in correctly.  Additionally we have spoken with our local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) for Overland Park, KS to get their procedure for getting a signature for NFA items.  (They will do it, but it didn’t seem like it was something they were totally enthused about.  Go figure, law abiding citizens trying to do the right thing and it upsets them.  I guess in their business criminal activity is better job security.)

Hopefully all of our local clients will be able to make it out.

Thanks

D9Firearms - December 6th Update

December 7th, 2008

We have currently sold out of our Kreiger, Mike Rock, and Wilson barrels we had.  We are expecting our new barrels in late February.  In a flurry of activity several quotes were generated and sent to potential buyers, in an effort to provide a rifle we reviewed our email list to verify who had committed to purchase the rifle first.  So while catching up we found that a couple rifles that were quoted will not be supplied in this run.  For the people still interested they will be moved in priority to our next barrel order.

Also, to calm everyone’s fears that we are deviating from our stalwart friends at DPMS because of quality or anything else this is not true, it is a short term measure we took to make sure we have receivers on hand for our custom barrels.  In these unprecedented times parts are still flowing, but with our investment in custom barrels we have to be able to deliver a complete rifle.  Additionally, we are in the process of sourcing DPMS & Armalite 308 receivers & bolt carrier assemblies from multiple sources.  Some of these will be purchased at an elevated price and unfortunately this will be reflected in our price.

We have also deviated in the AR-15 market for the same reasons so that we can continue to deliver products to the market place.  Some of this has not all been bad, we’ve developed some new relationships that we hope to grow in the future and found a few that won’t.   But rest assured we still have a large amount of DPMS rifles on order and continue to order all of our parts from them and will source their receivers from where we can get them.

Additionally, we are catching up on books, paper work, & orders and inventory.  We are also in the process of hiring an individual part time (I know this is not trickle up economics and I’m still waiting for the homeless people to offer me a new job).   Our goal is by Christmas time to be completely caught up on all of orders, quoting, ordering, and everything else, so we can enjoy a few days off at Christmas to re-charge and hit it hard in supplying you with custom rifles or whatever is on your Christmas list.

Finally, we are also making a few changes again for our local customers to better assist them and you.  We are consolidating pick ups/transfers to two days a week (1 weekday night & 1 weekend day).  Additionally, we will be consolidating outbound shipments to twice a week.  With the current level of sales, building, etc we are increasing our lead times because the amount of time to get our parts ordered, received, assembled and shipped has tripled in the last 5 weeks (what’s that all about didn’t realize a gun grabber was going to get elected?)

We will work to do our best to provide a the best custom quality product with excellent customer service.

D9Firearms - Still Trying to Arm 57 Million Right Minded Americans

November 30th, 2008

IMG_0943.JPG

We’ll be the Judge.  Don’t Let Friends Go Unarmed.
We are still busy and I know there are a few calls and emails we’ve missed or still owe some of you, but we were working to complete a couple of rifle builds for several of our customers.  We appreciate your patience and do not be bashful about re-emailing or calling us back if you haven’t heard from us in a few days or week.  Additionally, our local clients have been more then considerate allowing us to consolidate transfers and pickups.

This week we are building several custom rifles for about 6 clients to provide solutions to the economic bailout and defend our most basic right of self-preservation the 2nd Amendment.   We are also following up with several who have emailed to confirm orders and configurations so that we know what we have left to sell.  We should have a couple of 308’s and some .223’s available within the next week.

At this point we are using up all of our inventory on DPMS LR style uppers and lowers and may not be able to provide A3 style upper receivers for the barrels we have on order unless DPMS cuts loose with a couple of them.  We are also using up all available inventory of forearms that fit DPMS upper receivers.  We have made several attempts to confirm any availability of DPMS LR receivers and have been unsuccessful in getting a commitment that is not into late 2009 or early 2010.  As a result for all of our custom LR guns we will be making the transition to Armalite receivers for our custom barrels due in February.

This is something we don’t enjoy doing since DPMS products have been an integral part of our business.  We will continue to get their products when available from our wholesalers and hopefully the products we have on order with them directly.  We will also continue to use any products, parts, and service we can of theirs since they’ve been the best source and we want to continue our relationship with them.

Here are a couple of rifles we’ve just completed and will be listing or bring to the gun show at the Overland Park center on December 13 & 14.  We will have complete lower .223 assemblies available as well as upper assemblies and plan to have a variety of 308 rifles available.

Here is a quick update of what’s in store for December – February:

D9Firearms – Firearms Update

November 16th, 2008

Folk’s we are busy.  If we have promised you a firearm that means we have it.  Currently we are now running about 2 – 3 weeks behind schedule on AR & LR rifle assemblies, but rest assured for those of you who we’ve committed to we do have your work order on the bench or in staging. (We would rather delay you by a week then send out a rifle that did not receive the proper love and affection during the building process.  (This love and affection get’s close to the same love and affection I have for lovely Mrs. D9.))

Additionally, for this week only we plan to postpone local firearms sales and transfers until late in the week.  This is to allow us to catch up on paper work, perform inventory, build some rifles, and take a breath (and of course keep the Mrs. D9 happy, because if she’s not happy none of us are going to be).

We have placed multiple orders for a variety of barrels from several of our vendors.  Unfortunately they are quoting 2 – 3 months lead time, however we’ve had several on order prior to the election.  We will also be transitioning from selling stripped lowers to complete lowers so that it will match up with our supply of parts.  (It doesn’t do us any good if we have one component and not the other and are left with a supply of items we can’t sell, which also prevents us from ordering additional components).

Currently we have exhausted our supply of DPMS & Rock River lowers, but have YHM lowers available.  Additionally, unless absolutely necessary we will try to continue being supplied at the wholesale level.  (We’ve had to buy a few things recently at retail level and that hurts.)

As we stated we can still get handguns but everything is trending to the higher end, which isn’t a bad thing, but hampers some from expressing their 2nd Amendment.  We also have a supply of suppressors inbound.  For our local customers we do have a variety of ammunition on hand for sale.  For our custom ammunition we are temporarily suspending sales to allow us to catch up on general firearms sales.

Please be patient we will respond to your inquiries via phone or email.

Thanks

D9
